 EDMOND BEAUTIFUL ANNOUNCES 2008 KEEP IT CLEAN, KEEP IT GREEN WINNER
EDMOND, Okla. – At the City Council Meeting Feb. 9, Edmond Beautiful announced the winner of the 2008 Keep it Clean, Keep it Green business award. The Edmond Soccer Club received the honor for their recycling efforts. The award recognizes an Edmond business that sets and implements a specific goal to beautify, reduce, reuse, recycle or divert waste within the community, business or as an organization.
Locally, 1,750 youth participate in the Edmond Soccer Club with more than 10,000 visiting players each year. The Edmond Soccer Club partnered with the City of Edmond to place 40 recycling bins at the Edmond soccer facilities, specifically to collect water bottles. The first weekend of the project produced more than 100 50-gallon bags of recyclable bottles.
Edmond Beautiful works to establish, enhance and empower Edmond, Oklahoma toward a better environment for all generations. The organization provides the community with a way to improve the environment by recycling, remodeling old businesses and regulating laws ensuring the environment of the community, along with many other projects educating the citizens of Edmond on the environment.
